Pitt Research Offices

Four aligned Pitt Research offices help faculty, scholars, staff, students and external partners have access to tools and services intended, and in some cases required, to support their research across the University.

Office of Research Computing

The Office of Research Computing enables data-driven research by supporting computational facilities and architectures at the cutting edge of advanced computing. Core research areas that partner with the CRC include engineering, chemistry and genomics.

Office of Research Protections

The Office of Research Protections is responsible for the ethical and compliance integrity of the University’s research enterprise. The ORP engages staff and faculty in the oversight of human and animal research subject to regulatory control through an integrated system of research review, audit, and educational programs.

Office of Sponsored Programs

The Office of Sponsored Programs is charged with assisting faculty, staff, and students in their efforts to promote and secure sponsored research funding. The office reviews, negotiates, endorses, and provides administrative oversight related to proposals and awards in accordance with all applicable laws, policies and regulations.

Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship inspires, educates and empowers others to make an impact on society, improve the regional economy and transform their own careers. The office is composed of four units: The Innovation Institute, the Office of Industry and Economic Partnerships, the Big Idea Center for student innovation, and the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence
